Too many of our elderly and disabled neighbors in the Lowcountry were missing medical appointments, skipping errands, and losing touch with their communities — not because they didn’t want to go, but because they had no safe way to get there.
Glenn Barrett and Mark Snelson co-founded The Way There and Back to close that gap in transportation for Charleston’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. Since our founding in September 2025, we’ve provided over 700 rides to Charleston-area neighbors.
Every ride is provided safely and with dignity, so our riders can keep their independence, their connections, and the freedom to keep living life on their own terms.
For too many of our neighbors, getting to the doctor or the grocery store isn’t simple.

We built our service around the people who need a little more help getting where they’re going.
We meet you at your front door and help you in and out of the car — not just at the curb.
Every ride is there and back. We get you where you need to go, and we bring you home.
Every driver is background-checked and has their driving record reviewed.
